Thoracic Cancer Treatment Center

Drs. Johnson and Janne, Thoracic Oncology

Patient care at the Thoracic Cancer Treatment Center is coordinated among multidisciplinary health care professionals including thoracic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, dieticians and nutritionists, and social workers. This team approach provides the most effective way to manage the multimodality therapy that patients with thoracic cancer often require. From chemotherapy and radiation to surgical and endoscopy procedures and pathological services, patients receive care based on state-of-the-art protocols.

An important component of the Thoracic Program is the laboratory and clinical research that physicians are involved in to identify new and better treatments. Most patients are offered the chance to participate in a clinical trial testing promising new therapies as part of their treatment options.
